While working as a building services engineer it became clear that there wasn’t the same quality of information and plain-speaking common sense around business IT.
Client Technology Manager
I remember being summoned to the head teacher’s office at primary school. Lump in my throat, wondering what I had done wrong this time…
From an early age I always liked solving puzzles. So, it was no wonder I particularly enjoyed mathematics, where unravelling complex equations was where I excelled.
I joined Excellimore back in 2010 as a first line technician. After a spell as Operations Manager, I’ve been Technical Manager for the last couple of years.
Apparently studying software engineering makes you some sort of IT god, not that I disagree… but sometimes a man just wants to eat his dinner without being asked how to fix a friend’s rubbish network speeds!
After my first degree in Media and Advertising in my native Poland and a second degree in IT in Business, I came to Scotland to be an “IT man” and web developer for small companies in the Scottish Borders.
After six years of education, it is awesome to be working in the IT industry at last. I joined Excellimore in September 2019 and I’m really enjoying the adventurous challenges that I face in the day to day job.
In 2016, after I finished my college degree in Barcelona I decided to say goodbye to the sun and so I moved to Edinburgh. Eight months later I joined Excellimore as part of the student placement programme.
After finishing my studies at Belfast Royal Academy, I wanted to experience being independent and wanted to study abroad. I settled on Edinburgh for this and haven’t regretted the decision! (yet…)
Student IT Technician
When I was 12, I visited my uncle in Spain. He was trying to get my cousin to get into computing security as he saw it as the future. She wasn’t up for it, so I decided that I was. Since then I have been to university and joined Excellimore in 2019 for a student placement.
